The Ones To Watch

Karolina was shot by my dear friend Jacob Sadrak http://www.jacobsadrak.com/gallery.html. She is from Czech Republic and represented by Marylin http://www.marilyn-ny.com/index.php#p=karo/portfolio. Beautiful! When I work with Jacob, very little makeup needed for his style of photography. It’s more about the feeling and expression of the subject. “Way Kool” as he would say.

Working with Lara Jade

Lara is a one of those super talented, fresh, London photographers that managed to nab a NY agent with her extraordinary skill.  http://www.larajade.com. This was a challenging day as the little guy was not familiar with any of us and wanted to do his own thing. I used a Smashbox liner http://www.smashbox.com/CREAM-EYE-LINER-PALETTE to create a pronounced line on the top of eye. The make up was kept quite simple to match the theme of the styling.

Stephen Colbert for Project Magazine

This shoot was interesting because the model that photographer F. Scott Schafer http://www.fscottschafer.com/ hired for the day showed up but wasn’t comfortable doing the job. The Brazilian girl  had no idea who Stephen Colbert was. With quick thinking Scott called in his girlfriend, Valerie, the beautiful girl who appears in the clip below. The day was saved! Stephen Colbert was doing a spoof on Virgin Atlantic’s Sir Richard Branson. This is the second time I have worked on Stephen and he was super nice and funny in real life, too.

Cosmetic Companies

A few months back my entire make up was stolen and I was truly devastated. It was a terrible experience that I had to endure and a huge financial loss. I always wanted to thank the companies that supported me and were generous enough to send products to get me up and running again. A big “THANK YOU” to  Sephora, Smashbox, Make Up For Ever, Kanebo, Benefits, MAC, Estee Lauder, Lorac, Korres, and Alcone.

Sarah Allen from Being Human

I really love working with NBC. They have such wonderful clients. Sarah Allen’s makeup was done for a red carpet event she was attending that evening. I actually did her makeup for 2 events. The first look was created with Ardell lashes and Chanel eye colors. I used HD foundation by Make Up For Ever because it photographs nicely and it was a perfect color match. I mixed 125 with 128 because she had a bit of a tan. You must match foundation perfectly for events like this. The camera picks up the slightest color and things can go very wrong if its not perfectly blended.

The second look we decided to do more of a 40’s feel. Once again lashes and a bit more color on the lip. We also gave our input on the styling that day. She was super sweet and friendly and very easy going.
